The first daily in Borneo
The first daily in North Borneo (now Sabah), its first newsprint hit the streets of Jesselton (now Kota Kinabalu) on 1 March 1936. The late Tan Sri Yeh Pao Tzu took over the paper in 1949 and served as its publisher cum chief editor. The impartial commentaries, accurate and up-to-date coverage has made it the most prestigious and influential Chinese paper with the widest circulation in Kota Kinabalu.
